An Election is to be held of One Town Councillor for Witham (West Ward).
Forms of nomination for the Parish Election may be obtained from Clerk to Parish Council or Causeway House, Bocking End, Braintree, Essex, CM7 9HB, or downloaded from www.braintree.gov.uk. The Returning Officer will, at the request of an elector for any electoral area prepare a nomination paper for signature.
Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, Causeway House, Bocking End, Braintree, Essex, CM7 9HB (electronic delivery is not permitted) on any day after the date of this notice but no later than 4pm on Friday, 21 June 2024.
If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 18 July 2024.
Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Causeway House, Bocking End, Braintree, Essex, CM7 9HB by 5pm on Wednesday, 3 July 2024.
Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Causeway House, Bocking End, Braintree, Essex, CM7 9HB by 5 pm on Wednesday, 10 July 2024.
Applications to vote by proxy at this election applied for on grounds of physical incapacity, where that physical incapacity occurred after 5 pm on Wednesday, 10 July 2024, must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Causeway House, Bocking End, Braintree, Essex, CM7 9HB by 5pm on Thursday, 18 July 2024.
