Steeple Bumpstead Neighbourhood Plan
Regulation 17 – In May 2024 Braintree District Council in consultation with Steeple Bumpstead Parish Council appointed the independent examiner Mr Derek Stebbing to examine the Steeple Bumpstead Neighbourhood Plan.

A Neighbourhood Area application was submitted to Braintree District Council by Steeple Bumpstead Parish Council for the parish of Steeple Bumpstead on 19th February 2018 under The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations (2012) as amended:

The Steeple Bumpstead Neighbourhood Area application was approved on the 8th March 2018. The decision was made on the basis that the applicant was Steeple Bumpstead Parish Council, who as parish Council are a relevant body, and the area applied for was the whole extent of Steeple Bumpstead Parish.
A Regulation 14 consultation on the draft plan which ran until 17th May 2023
In February 2024 Steeple Bumpstead Parish Council submitted a Neighbourhood Plan for the parish (under Regulation 15) to Braintree District Council, along with 5 supporting documents:
- Steeple Bumpstead Design Guidance and codes
- Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA)
- Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA)
- Basic Conditions Statement
- Consultation Statement
Braintree District Council undertook a Regulation 16 consultation of the Steeple Bumpstead Neighbourhood Plan.
The consultation took place between 19th March and 5pm on 3rd May 2024.
