Pledge to turn engines off at drop off

Making your pledge

According to Essex Air, the main source of air pollution in Braintree is road traffic. Idling – where a car’s engine is left running while it is stationary – contributes to this problem and reduces air quality, in particular near schools. Young, developing lungs are more vulnerable to its effects and children, being smaller than adults, are closer to the source of the problem

Everyone who makes a pledge will receive a certificate sent to their email address to display at home, to show they are idling aware

that I will turn off my engine on school grounds and anywhere else I might be waiting for longer than a few minutes in my vehicle.
